Original art enriches the soul and during these tougher times we need it more than ever. And yet, it is more difficult to afford. Now for only $800 there is a way to start to afford an original oil potentially worth $6,000. Here"s how it works. Sepia PaintingI paint most of my paintings following a process used by the Old Masters. I paint the entire work in Burnt Umber to capture the composition through light and dark values. It looks like an old sepia photo- graph at this stage. Many people have offered to buy a painting done just in sepia because at this stage there is a spontaneity and character they like. This gave me an idea for a way to make owning an original more affordable . Normally, a finished 30" x 40" original is $6,000. That is a lot of money in these tougher times. With the Sepia Collection you can buy a 30" x 40" original in sepia for only $800. (Or a smaller size 18" x 24" in sepia for $500.) So, come in or get on line at evanspaintings.com and choose from 15-20 sepia paintings in the collection. Color Painting Then, when times get better, if you want to, you can have me finish your 30" x 40" sepia painting on a commission basis. Because I am completing it as a commission, it will only cost you an additional $3,200. Instead of an original oil painting in color costing you $6,000, you will have paid a total of $4,000 ($800 for the sepia plus $3,200 for color). That"s a 33% savings of $2,000! See the Sepia Show The Sepia Show will open Saturday, November 15th at 10:00 AM and continue through December 31st at the Evans Paintings Gallery at One The Green in Woodstock or you can go on line to evanspaintings.com and call us at 802-332-6015 to order. There will be 15-20 sepia paintings, half will be larger ones (30" x 40"), and half will be smaller (18" x 24" or 20" x 30"). |
